About this listen

Mated werewolves Charles Cornick and Anna Latham must discover what could make an entire community disappear - before it's too late - in this thrilling entry in the number one New York Times best-selling Alpha and Omega series.

In the wilds of the Northern California mountains, all the inhabitants of a small town have gone missing. It's as if the people picked up and left their possessions behind. With a mystery on their hands and no jurisdiction on private property, the FBI dumps the whole problem in the lap of the land owner, Aspen Creek, Inc. - a.k.a. the business organization of the Marrok's pack.

Somehow, the pack of the Wolf Who Rules is connected to a group of vanished people. Werewolves Charles Cornick and Anna Latham are tasked with investigating and soon find that a deserted town is the least of the challenges they face.

Death sings in the forest, and when it calls, Charles and Anna must answer. Something has awakened in the heart of the California mountains, something old and dangerous - and it has met werewolves before.

another winner!!!!

I was so happy to find this book. In my mind it takes way too long for the next book in the series to come out:(
But then I realize that to write such awesome books it should take a lot of time to come out. Please take your time Patricia Briggs, I can wait.
For anyone new to this series or this author, I recommend that you read most of the "Mercy Thompson" series before starting this series.
As usual, the narrator (Holter Graham) was great. I hope that he is contracted for all of the next books.

Love Patricia Briggs . Narrating needs adjustment

Great book, great story. But the narrator should not make the male characters sound like an old Batman. In other audio books by Patricia Briggs -Bran is described as being able to pass as a young man and he is narrated as normal, smooth and confident as you’d imagine the marrock to be. This narrator tries to make him sound old and hoarse. It just doesn’t fit at all and sounds horrible. Please fix this for future books. It’s not needed. (Charles could be toned down too.) otherwise love these books/audio books

Good Story

Really good addition to the series, and world. Insider info Ford in this book is not the same Ford from the Mercy Thompson books. Name rang a bell so I looked it up. Had been thinking of Stephan's Ford. Who is definitely not the same guy.

Another excellent Alpha and Omega novel

I absolutely adore this series! every book is better than the last, Charles and Anna just have such great chemistry and it's always so much fun to get to listen to one of their adventures. this putting had a lot of Tag in it and in my opinion that's a great thing. there were a lot of surprises in this book that made me grin like an idiot and break my heart to tiny pieces. I will say that this book comes with a trigger warning, although this series has long dealt with issues of the fall out from sexual assault, in this ousting its not just just a subplot. It's much more pronounced in this novel, so be warned and maybe skip this one if that's an issue for you.

Fantastic, as always!

Another stellar admission into the world of Anna and Charles and their Pack. Such a gifted story teller; I love disappearing into their adventures, getting totally absorbed by each crisis and event, until reemerging into reality feels like a betrayal and disappointment!! Please write fast, Patricia, and take me back soon!

If You Go Down To The Woods Today....

I really love this story of music being used as a weapon in form and function. when was the last time you heard a piece of music and didn't feel anything.. nothing at all. Of course Music is magical and when used by master it can become entrancing. So, what give it this power over us?? read the book and perhaps find one possibility.
