About this listen

Award-winning actress Drew Barrymore shares funny, insightful, and profound stories from her past and present told from the place of happiness she's achieved today.

Wildflower is a portrait of Drew's life in stories as she looks back on the adventures, challenges, and incredible experiences of her earlier years. It includes tales of living on her own at 14 (and how laundry may have saved her life), getting stuck in a gas station overhang on a cross-country road trip, saying good-bye to her father in a way only he could have understood, and many more adventures and lessons that have led her to the successful, happy, and healthy place she is today. It is the first book Drew has written about her life since the age of 14.

An easy listen

Drew states herself at the beginning of the book that she is not a writer and that this book jumps around a lot. This is true and sometimes can get a bit confusing but not a big deal since there isn't a detailed storyline to follow. I have always liked Drew Barrymore so it was interesting to hear these stories from her perspective. One thing I didn't like about this book is sometimes when she is re-telling a story she YELLS into the microphone! I had to turn the volume way down a bunch of times.

Too over dramatic

It started out great but with the screaming it really turned me off wanting to finish it. Very disappointing because I was so excited to listen.

Delightful

This audible exactly represents how I think Drew Barrymore would be in person. Bubbly, optimistic, neurotic. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Inspiring!

I love it! Drew is an amazing woman and each of her stories tell us why she is an interesting and lovely wildflower.

I read a review that she screams a lot and I’m glad I give it a try and didn’t pay attention to that negative review. Yes, she does scream in this audiobook but she won’t harm your ears.

If you like Drew Barrymore I think you are going to love, to know more about her in this book.

Fun and upbeat read

Drew shines through with this amazing memoir of my childhood mentors. I grew up with her watching E.T and growing up alongside one of my favourite actresses with the Wedding Singer. Now I could relate so well as she shared her vulnerability with me. Her unusual parents and her love of her kids and pets. I felt an instant bing and my fondness grew for Drew. If you read this Drew, if you weren't famous, we'd be best pals for sure!

You can’t help but just love Drew, smile and laugh with her through every moment!

I loved it. Only one star off as she edited her accounts of her life for a quite uplifting telling. I would’ve met her through any raw telling of her struggles, but I also respect she told her story how she wanted to. I love her even more after listening.
