About this listen
He has a past shrouded in mystery, a skeleton sheathed in indestructible metal, unbreakable claws that can cut through almost anything, and a mutant healing factor that can mend virtually any wound.
His friends call him Logan. The X-Men call him Wolverine.
While visiting Japan, he is recruited to recover a stolen experimental drug, one that has the potential to be a true miracle cure for all human disease - or a sadistic means of enslaving the world. With every hour bringing mankind closer to tragedy, he embarks on a daring mission to identify the thieves and thwart their terrifying agenda.
From the back alleys of Tokyo to the smugglers' coves of Brazil, from the opulent palaces of St. Petersburg to the war-torn villages of Africa, Logan's quest takes him from one deadly setting to the next. But his desperate last stand will test the limits of his abilities - and his courage - like never before.

James Bond.. With Claws
This Wolverine standalone adventure reads like an Ian Fleming Spy Thriller.. but set in the Marvel Universe. Logan (with some allies) pursues villains - including superpowered ones - around the planet to rescue a kinapped researcher and liberate a stolen pharmaceutical that could be used to unleash worldwide mayhem. Mythical Mutants team up with all-too-real Russian oligarchs, criminal organizations (Tongs/Triads/Yakuza), money laundering interests, and terrorists in David Alan Mack's matrix - lending striking realism to a comicbook world [I fully recognize that this stuff is fantasy (Mutant heroes & villains Do Not Exist, people).. but Mack's breakneck-paced plot and passable dialogue/description make suspending disbelief surprisingly easy].
Mack's plot is admittedly unoriginal and attempts at witty banter between characters are sometimes groanworthy, but the writing is generally competent. The book is legitimately well-written.
The reading from Qarie Marshall is worthy of praise, too. I found his rate of reading a little too slow (1.15X was the optimal playback speed), but his timbre, tone, and cadence were great. Additionally, Marshall does the best voice-acting for the Wolverine character I have yet heard. Essentially, he *is* Wolverine. Despite a couple of annoying mispronunciations, I would listen to more from Marshall any day.
This mature adventure is set in a Universe where superpowered individuals fight for/against plausible evil interests. The audiobook is worthy of 7.5 stars out of 10. It's disappointingly "Hollywood-cliché" formulaic, but 'Road Of Bones' is undeniably entertaining. Marvel fans, Comicbook fantasy afficianados, and Thriller readers in general will all enjoy it.
