A game changer!

I bought this book because I heard the author speak at a week long event and was fascinated on his take of the bible . This book completely changed everything I was taught about God and renewed my spirituality for someone who was raised in church and was not cool with a lot of the things I learned and raised to believe. This book validated that and I was taken on a journey learning about our place in the world and the need to make it a better place instead of waiting on God to fix it. aka thoughts and prayers aren't enough! I completely changed my perspective on how we conceptualize God and how we were taught a very negative portrayal to scare us or control us thereby turning us all off. I loved the history lessons, unpacking the misinterpretations of the bible,self growth, acceptance, and contributing to our communities in significant active way. I love this book and will read it over and over again. My fav part was the emphasis on how bad things that happen are not a part of "gods plan' and not everything happens for a reason. this book was accessible for all people from atheists to the most religiously pious. highly recommend!

too good to be true, but it is

I will hit play again

So much made sense, questions that I've asked myself and got answers. It's not easy to match which seems to be a God with different personalities, but here it got to learn that everything should be filtered through the lenses of Christ.
