About this listen
Rachel Goldman writes mysteries in which Duffy Madison, consultant to the county prosecutor's office, helps find missing persons. Rachel is busy working on her next book when a man calls out of the blue asking for help in a missing person case. The caller's name? Duffy Madison.
Is this real, or has she lost her mind? She doesn't have much time to find out, because a serial killer is on the loose, kidnapping and murdering mystery authors. And Rachel may just be the next target.
Full of uncanny intrigue and witty humor, E. J. Copperman's imaginative series debut, Written Off, is sure to be a new fan favorite for listeners of Donna Andrews.

Surprisingly fun!
I tried this book out and found myself not wanting to put it down! It’s very entertaining and well-written. The narrator is perfect for the role!!

Good listen
This was a good, entertaining listen. However after having enjoyed E J Coperman’s wit and style of writing in all of the haunted guest house series (along with Ms Ronconi’s wonderful rendering of this amusing series) it was hard to picture the same voice and humour in a complete different setting.

Interesting premise
Novel idea for sleuth and sidekick. Writing and narration middling good. Good enough to pickup the next in the series.

Written Off-a good listen, excellent narration
I liked the characters and the narrator Amanda Ronconi was excellent. The only thing I didn’t care for during my experience was a couple parts of the story. Rachel was a bit monologue-ish, rambling here and there. I suppose you could add a few more facts or conversations but I’m not sure of the author’s criteria Regardless, I totally enjoyed the book listening to this book by EJ Copperman.

Written Off
I do enjoy this series and nothing about the narrator annoys me so it's overall very good. At one point, it was rather intense and i missed my exit and was late for work lol.

cute but predictable
I enjoyed this for what it was, but it just wasn't as good as it sounded.

Excellent listen
The narrator. She is absolutely fantastic. And I love E.J Copperman. Excellent story.
The characters are believable, and a cute inside look at the life of an author.
I know that it will tie up in the end.
My favorite scene was at the end and how the main character was saved.
I'm off to the second book this was made me smile and laugh.

Interesting but annoying
I enjoyed this book but also found the main character very annoying. She had a superiority and way of talking, but then kept jumping to dumb conclusions. I wished she had just questioned Duffy about who he was instead of trying to “trick” him and catch inconsistencies with the character she created. I think it could be interesting if there’s a supernatural reason for him being there and it could be interesting to find out he’s an imposter. But going back to omg he’s dangerous and crazy over and over was tiresome.
