superb
my favorite author, not disappointed - different enough from previous books to be new and keep it exciting!

fun
I had pre-ordered this from Audible was was delighted to see it in my library this morning. I had no idea until just now that it is part if a series, but honestly, it made no difference. It can easily be read as a stand-alone.
It kind of fizzled/lost my attention at the end during the critical face-off, but overall, it was an entertaining and well paced read. The concept was interesting, and the characters were solid. The villain was the sort you just want to backhand. I did sort of feel like Angela the pickpocket was underutilized, but that was likely because I didn't think that it was part of a series when I started reading, and I expected her to play a bigger role. Still, she was a great secondary character.
The writing was perfect for the style of novel, and I appreciated the creative killings. The narration was very good.
I'll check out more.
