Richard spent fourteen years in prison. He was tortured, beaten, and locked into a solitary confinement cell. Sabina Wurmbrand spent three years in a labor camp, nearly freezing to death as she and other prisoners worked on the Danube Canal. She was repeatedly told her husband had died behind bars.

The Necessity of the Global Church
Every Western Christian who does not know persecution, who has never risked imprisonment for their faith, needs to hear the testimonies of those who have. The courage and conviction of our brothers and sisters remind us of the war we're in, help awaken us from the lullabies of our culture, and challenge us to continue pushing into our faith, and pursuing Christ, even as He pursued us.

Inspiring! Awesome work.
I will listen to this over and over again and have recommended to many. Narration is extremely well done - the best I’ve heard thus far. I found myself sitting in the driveway at the end of my commute, not wanting to turn it off. In the mornings, I did the same at my office, sometimes needing to wait for the tears to dry. Such faithful saints, so inspiring to read about such strength. It makes my daily struggles seem so trivial! Thanks VOM!

A Must Listen for Believers
Deeply inspirational and eye opening, this book should be read or listened to by all but especially those of us who claim to be followers of Christ. It is eye opening to the evils of communism but most of all the love of Jesus even in the darkest of places. You can’t listen without being affected by the message. Let this book change you and renew your commitment to follow Jesus.

One of the best books I've read/listened to!
excellent storytelling and excellent narrating

The passion in the readers voice
It was good to here of Lutherans doing good things through Christ. Look to me and be saved all the ends of the earth.
