the funny oaf of an MC
i loved the sarcastic comedy, had me snickering, chuckling, and occasionally giggling at the witty banter and sarcasm. Maulkin's antics entertained immensely.

Fun story, Great narration, decent writing until it's not.
Author has penned a very fun story. But the writing....oof. Multiple times in the story (this book in particular) the mc has "conflicts" of morality or character that are such a stretch if not entirely unbelievable that it takes you out of the story. What makes it worse, is how the solutions to the conflicts are so ham-fisted that the author is forced to make more unbelievable conflicts between characters who have no real reason to have it. Characters that are written as intelligent individuals, jump to conclusions that are completely against their character up to that point. I'm going finfinish my last hour of book two but, barring an amazing cliff hanger, I probably won't move on to book three. it's a shame.

great story
great story 10/10 on that but mercy is the worst she straight up betrays the MC 2 times in a row leaves him to die 2 times then he is forced to apologize......... shes the worst
