Publisher's Summary

Pirates and slavers beware. The Spacemage is coming for you!

All Thorn wanted was to be a Battle Mage. He had the talent, and his whole future was before him. On the day of Choosing, he finds things don't always go as planned. Suddenly Thorn's life is thrown into fast forward, and he finds himself in a world not of his own choosing.

In a world of spaceships and blasters, instead of horses and swords, Thorn needs to adapt and survive, make new allies, and rediscover that although nothing is familiar, he's still a Mage, and pirates and slavers beware.

Yesterday is history, and today he's become Yesterday's Spacemage.

Interesting concept but shallow

Feels like a story outline. Could use a lot of development. I liked the concept of the story. But absolutely everything and everyone was completely left up to the reader to decide what it looked like. A ship is just a ship. A space station is just a space station. A main protagonist is just a pretty boy. No shape, size, hair color, weight, color, defining features.

The main character also never really had any challenge. People around him immediately assume he can fix a problem magically before even being told he has magic. And the solution to every problem is magic. All other characters are just there as distractions and to move cargo. Which feels like poor development of the world.

Very interesting audio book. The protagonist was well written.

I loved this title. I’m looking forward to the other entries in this collection. Well spoken, and we’ll written. The ending was a shocker! You’ll have to listen to it, I’m not spoiling anything, ;-)

Amateur level wish fulfillment

Definitely not high quality writing. Characters are either completely stupid evil or completely pure and omnipotent so the plot is predictable and not very imaginative. It was free and worth every penny. Tech is pretty familiar from movies and current culture no extrapolating
