About this listen
Yoga for the Surfer includes the following three audiobooks: Yoga for the Surf, Vol. 1; Yoga for the Surf, Vol. 2; and Yoga for Vitality.
Yoga for the Surf, Vol. 1 is a 60-minute instructional yoga class devised specifically for surfers, kitesurfers, windsurfers, wakeboarders, kneeboarders, and waterskiers with little or no previous yoga experience. A practical and effective yoga class that can be used again and again to improve your performance on the water, it instructs you in 18 simple postures that will improve flexibility, strength, coordination, balance, and mental focus. These benefits will make a real difference to your ability on the water and will also reduce the risk of injury. Volume 1 is also ideal to use after a session on the water to stretch and relax your body.
Volume 2 is a 65-minute yoga class that naturally progresses from the first volume and includes 19 stronger postures.
These two classes start with a short relaxation to focus your mind and prepare the body for the postures that follow - each introduced using clear, easy-to-follow instructions combined with a subtle atmospheric background music track. The classes end with a short relaxation session that will leave your body and mind feeling relaxed and tuned.
Yoga for Vitality is a 60-minute guided session suitable for those with some knowledge of basic yoga postures. It contains effective yoga postures and techniques that will boost your energy levels without fatiguing the body and includes techniques that will disperse stagnant energy and remove blockages in the energy zones so that energy can flow freely to all areas of the body. Two different dancing warrior sequences are included, each of which focus on the connection between breath and movement and encourage the body and mind to feel refreshed and recharged. The end-of-session closing postures will deeply relax your body and mind and leave you with an increased sense of health and well-being.
