About this listen

Your Kids, Their Money gives you the tools to teach your children about the one area many parents never talk about - money.

Drawing on his master's in business administration (MBA), finance experience, and practices with his own children, Clifton Corbin provides a guide for the modern parent. In this book you will learn how to educate your children on the basics of money management, such as allowances, first jobs, borrowing, credit, and investing, in ways that make sense to parents and appeal to kids.

Clifton's innovative approach starts by identifying teachable moments during everyday activities. You will see how to:

  • Involve your children in the family's finances
  • Explain where money comes from
  • Teach why it's essential to invest, manage debt, and donate
  • Gain tools to explain why sometimes you just can't afford some things
  • And so much more

Throughout the book, you and your kids can participate in activities and games to engage further with financial literacy and build greater confidence.

Your Kids, Their Money is the clear and simple guide you need to help teach financial literacy to your children. Applicable for kids of all ages, this guide is an investment you will want to make in building a solid foundation for your children’s future.

An open, honest, helpful approach to improving financial literacy

I throughly enjoyed listening to this book. Raised in a loving, middle-class family, the author realized significant gaps in his knowledge and exposure to certain financial topics. He openly shares hiccups in his early adulthood, lessons learned, and ultimately financial success. With concrete scaffolded examples, his advice is given to help parents and youth to better prepare for a complex financial landscape.

My kids loved it as much as I did.

Our boys have a good grasp of money. Or so I thought. After listening to this book I realize that there are definitely things we can improve on and steps we were missing.

My boys are 8 and 10yrs old. They'd walk into the kitchen in the am while I was listening and instead of asking for a podcast they chose to listen with me.

It sparked some great conversations at breakfast and following days they asked to listen to more.

I've made a note each year to listen again as the strategies to adapt as they grow up until they are out of the house we definitely want to implement.

Next step is to review the resources and downloads of activities to help us teach the kids that come with the audio.
