「うろこぐもと鉛色の月光、九月のイーハトヴの鉄道線路の内想です。」 賢治がこの物語にあたえた広告文はこのように短いものです。新文明・鉄道線路の内想とは不可解ですが、ここに登場する恭一少年がどうやら思春期の入口にあることを考えれば、内想は少年の内面でもあるらしいことがわかります。
音楽は新実徳英氏が担当、ドッテテではじまるでんしんばしらの行進曲は、賢治の残した譜面を尊重してアレンジされています。
