    Watch as Mario and Twenty are joined by Dr. Thomisia "Mishi" Booker to discuss how important it is for your mental health and relationships to speak up for yourself to get what you need.


    Dr. Mishi launched Hey Carter! after being disappointed in the lack of representation for Black boys in children’s books. Hey Carter! is inspired by her son, Carter and now daughter Truly. Dr. Booker earned a Master’s in Social Work and a Doctorate in Education Counseling Psychology. She is a licensed therapist and began her career working in early childhood mental at a nonprofit in San Jose where she is from. She is a member of the Black Literary Collective (Building Leaders and Activists with Collective Knowledge) a group of Black authors in the Bay Area working to decolonize educational spaces to ensure Black children have access to culturally relevant content and pedagogy. Dr. Booker supports schools, districts, and childcare centers with training and education goals.


    Hey Carter! is a children's brand focused on increasing representation and creating tools for caregivers and educators to support the well-being of Black children.


    Mission: Our goal at Hey Carter! is to inspire and uplift Black children, promoting self-love, positive self-image, and a strong sense of identity through our products, workshops, trainings, and events.
