fairly decent but no real resolution
I really enjoyed this but was hoping there'd be some sort of resolution in the end but there wasn't.

good listen but....
While it started out as a good listen. I don't feel like it ended the way it should have. There are still many questions and people who needed to be interviewed and heard from 'on the record'. I understand it is difficult to interview people when they refuse but that ,in my opinion, would be the only way to peice together this puzzle. Collin, Brock and Officer X all needed to be heard from first hand.....but the journalist did the best he could with what he could! Maybe they will follow up on this series who knows.

really good
I comtinue to be impressed by Audible's "true crime" podcasts. I very much enjoy the serialized format and the length of each episode.
The investigation by the author was logical and easy to follow along with. The performance by narrators was excellent.

Tough Listen
this one was hard to listen to. I love the Aussie accent but I struggled with understanding quite a few of the ppl in this particular podcast. As a result, I wasn't as emotionally invested as I normally get. Add to that that we came full circle without any real conclusion nd overall, I was disappointed.

Unfortunate Ending
With the surge in popularity for true crime audio formats (and I'm just as guilty as the next of indulging in a fascination with darker stories), one has to wonder where the line is crossed into exploitative. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but I have to say I'm not sure there was any point or benefit to this poor family to have what was obviously so traumatic an experience dragged out, reshashed, painful wounds and memories re-opened, and for what? It feels like Amazon was just throwing money at trying to be the next "Serial" or the like, and neither Mark nor Audible/Amazon seems to have put much thought into the real world impact that this sort of search for fame and entertainment might have on the very real people this impacted. At the end, I felt so immensely sorry for the family, both for their tragic loss, and for being exploited the way I felt they were by this whole production. Mark gets to close the chapter on this with ease, fly back to his comfortable home in the big city and forget, while never seeming to really acknowledge how much peace he's cost the family in the end. Sad stuff.
