  • A Mother's Plea for Help: The Timmy Dee's Story
    Oct 2 2024

It's a cold February morning, 4:40 a.m. to be exact. 911 dispatch gets a phone call from a frantic young man named Timmy Dees. He had traveled to town with a friend, and now he was being threatened by his friend and needed help. Police arrived on the scene a few minutes later, but Timmy was nowhere to be found. The officer does not look for the distraught young man, instead, he arrests another man on the scene who happened to have a warrant for his arrest. None of this made sense to Timmy's mom. Why did no one look for her son when he had blatantly called 911 for help? They wouldn't help her either when she begged them to help her look for her missing son. They said he was of age, and he probably ran off. 5 months later Timmy's body would be found 184 yards away from where he had made that desperate call. To this day police cannot tell this mother what happened to her son. Perhaps he laid down to take a nap and died. Perhaps he was running from someone and fell and hit his head. Maybe he OD’d. Nobody can tell her anything, and nobody wants to help. What happened to Timmy Dees in the wee hours of February 28th, 2022?

  • Revisiting the Ambush and Death of Pauline Pusser
    Feb 20 2024

This week the TBI announced they would be exhuming Pauline Pusser's body after 57 years! After being pulled back into the case several times, Synova has decided to step back into the world of true crime.

    The Public Story:

    August 12, 1967:

Sheriff Pusser received a disturbance call in the wee hours before dawn. Pauline Pusser decided to ride along with her husband as she had done on many occasions. The pair drove out to New Hope Road to check it out. The disturbance was a ruse to ambush the young sheriff and his wife.

Pusser passed the New Hope Methodist church looking for the reported disturbance but continued driving when he found the place quiet. A black Cadillac pulled out from behind the church and followed the sheriff with its lights off. As the two cars reached a narrow bridge, the Cadillac flashed on its headlights and came racing up beside the officer’s car.

The Cadillac’s passenger opened fire hitting Pauline in the head. The sheriff ducked and stepped on the gas. The engine roared to life, and the car lurched ahead of the assassins. He sped up the road a couple of miles until he was sure he had lost his tail, and then pulled over to check on Pauline. Moments later the assassins again found their mark and gunshots rang out hitting Sheriff Pusser in the face and jaw blowing it apart. Somehow the sheriff would survive the attack, but Pauline was killed.

57 years later we still don't know who killed Pauline.
