  • Conversation Street Episode 666
    Feb 8 2025

On our latest podcast, we take a look at the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 3rd and the 5th February (Episodes #11,483 - 11,488).

Although Corrie had to tie up the 'What happened to Amy?' thread and of course throw in a few Carla scenes to appease the hungry fans, the vast majority of the action centred around the fire at the Platts' house this week. If you enjoyed last year's Whodunnits centred around Lauren and Joel, you're in luck because Corrie has dipped into the same well again this week by presenting a number of suspects for the arson - did Abi torch the house to cover her tracks? Leanne to get revenge on her boyfriend-stealing sister? David to claim on the insurance? Or maybe the culprit is a character we may not be supposed to suspect at this point - someone who hasn't yet had the chance to explain their movements in the minutes before that match was tossed through the letterbox...

After exhausting our thoughts and theories about the week's episodes, we take a trip to The Kabin, where we celebrate Corrie's win at the Broadcast Awards, then we hear some listeners' thoughts on the fire in the feedback section.

  • Flamin' Nora! Corrie's Fiercest Infernos!
    Feb 6 2025

For such a small location, Coronation Street has certainly seen its fair share of blazes over the past 65 years! In this week’s bonus episode, we take a fiery trip down memory lane, reliving Corrie's most unforgettable infernos -from flaming fast food vans and blazing bureaus to the Rovers going up in smoke and even an entire block of flats set ablaze! But what’s been the biggest cause of these disasters - tragic accidents or something more sinister? How many beloved (and not-so-beloved) characters have met a fiery fate? And who are the unluckiest - or perhaps most suspicious -residents who always seem to be lurking when flames start to rise? Tune in to find out!

  • Another Scheduling Shake-Up!
    Feb 4 2025

The news has just dropped today that from January 2026, Corrie (and Emmerdale!) will be moving to five half hour episodes a week, Monday to Friday. What effects could this massive scheduling change have on our favourite soap? What could work well, and what questions do we still want answered? We couldn't wait until the end of the week to discuss this one, so here are our immediate reactions!

  • Conversation Street Episode #665
    Jan 31 2025

On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the drama that unfolded on the cobbles between the 27th and the 29th January 2025 (Episodes #11,479 - 11,482)

There were only two visits to Weatherfield this week, but still plenty of drama for us to sink our teeth into, not least the short lived kidnapping drama for Shona on Monday's episode - will Harvey stop at nothing to get his money back from David? Also this week, we were very pleasantly surprised to see Leanne still in full-on bitch mode once more - though that was nothing compared to the shock of her latest bedroom conquest! Meanwhile, Abi continues to spiral downhill, Chesney and Gemma's escape from financial misery comes to an abrupt halt, and Tracy thinks she's found proof that Ken's being fleeced - can Cassie squirm her way away from the spotlight of suspicion?

Up next on the podcast, we head to The Kabin, where we check out ITV Reloved's recent Corrie costume sale bonanza and share all the details of Vicky Myers' upcoming appearance at a fan convention. We finish off the show with more of your feedback.

  • The Bobbins Awards 2024
    Jan 30 2025

2024 Corrie may now be very much in our rear view mirror, but before it disappears completely over the horizon, we have to hold it to account for its crimes against telly in this year's Bobbins Awards! Calling out the worst, weirdest and wackiest stories and characters of the past twelve months, the Bobbins Awards are a lighthearted look at the things that...well...just didn't quite work for us. Who did we pick as the Mardiest Mare? The Daftest Apeth? The Dirtiest Dog? To find out the winners in these categories and more, take a listen to the Bobbins Awards 2024!

  • Conversation Street Episode 664
    Jan 25 2025

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown between the 20th and the 24th January 2025 (Episodes #11,473 - 11,478).

Another great week on the cobbles this week, we thought, with some high drama in court, devilishly funny moments from Leanne and Tracy, and a couple of definitely unexpected twists. Sure, there probably weren't many of us who actually thought Lauren would be sent down this week, but was anyone expecting Daisy's mic drop moment at the Rovers quiz? Or what about Ryan's latest conquest? As well as that, we had David the Dog's little life hanging in the balance, Cassie deftly avoiding any kind of recrimination when Daniel tells Ken about what Bertie saw at his party, and even another appearance from Seb!

Up next in the podcast, it's The Kabin, where we chat about some criticism Corrie's received recently from a kidney charity over the way it's handled Carla's latest medical drama, and we finish things off with some listener feedback.

  • Our 2025 Pitches, Predictions and Prayers
    Jan 22 2025

It's the start of a new year, which means time to dust off the old crystal ball and see what could be coming to the cobbles in the next twelve months! In this episode, we chat about our predictions for 2025, discuss what we're squeezing our hands together tight and praying will happen, and get our creative juices flowing by coming up with some storyline pitches for the year. Of course, it wouldn't be a prediction show without us looking back to last year's ideas and seeing how many of them we got right (spoiler alert - not too many!) and also hear some ideas from our lovely listeners. Honestly, who needs TV guide spoilers and leaks from The Sun when you've got this?

  • Conversation Street Episode #663
    Jan 18 2025

On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about everything that went on in Weatherfield between the 13th and the 17th January (Episodes #11,467 - 11,472)

Despite dominating our screen time last week, there was relatively little follow-up to the stabbing story this week - at least for the kids involved, that is. Abi, on the other hand, has been having a proper rough old time of it, culminating in yet another ghostly return to the cobbles in the form of Seb! And she's not the only Webster with issues this week either, as Kevin's having problems of own downstairs... Also this week, Lauren's trial kicks off, there's a hostage situation at the prison, and a merging of Barlow storylines sees Cassie and Daniel finding out a few of each other's secrets...

Up next on the podcast, we celebrate the birth of Lucy Fallon's new sprog in The Kabin, before hearing about your reactions to the stabbing story in the feedback section. We round off the podcast with our reaction to this week's cast news in a spoilery Kabin Extra.
