    Jan 15 2025
    Hi friends, happy Wednesday!

History books put presidents on a pedestal. We think of them as these untouchable heroes. In school we learn about what made them good leaders… What their big achievements were. How they handled war. Disasters. Terrorist attacks.

But what about the weird stuff they did that no one talks about? I’m talkin’ their quirks and their… un-presidential behaviors. When I looked into this, turns out, there were a lot of them.

I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History.

  • 155: Urine Beer, Insulin Comas, and Ozempic: the DH of Diabetes
    Jan 8 2025
    Hi friends, happy Wednesday!

Diabetes is a disease that’s been around for thousands and thousands of years. Literally, since the neanderthals were walking around, painting in caves.

Recently, I went to the doctor. And something happened. I had to pee in a cup, you know, pretty routine. But my doctor came back with this look on his face and he was like… your pee is full of sugar. Turns out, this could be a sign of diabetes.

So while I was waiting for my test results… you know me. I was doom scrolling. Googling until 3am. Just preparing myself for the worst. I ended up not having diabetes, but even still… I couldn’t stop reading about it. Because this disease has an *insane* history.

Before there was insulin and Ozempic, there were starvation diets, opium cocktails, and… beer made of literal pee. Let’s get into it.

I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History.

  • 154: The Mass Murderer Who Inspired Hitler: How Mussolini Manipulated a Nation
    Dec 18 2024
    Hi friends, happy Wednesday!

I’m very interested in dictators. I read so much about Stalin last year. We even did a two parter on him, wild guy. Today’s main character has a LOT in common with Stalin… He was besties with Hitler. And he survived not one, not two, not three, but FOUR assassination attempts. On top of that, after he survived, he tried to *cancel christmas.* Today, we’re talking about… BENITO MUSSOLINI.

He’s responsible for the deaths of HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of people. But what made him so powerful and why did so many people support him?

Well, those are the questions I wanted to know the answers to, so let's learn about Benito Mussolini in today's episode of Dark History.

I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History.

I hate America Lol

The things the American powers to be have done to indigenous peoples in various places is just disgusting. They are the worst.

Lots of advertisements

I have seen a few of Bailey's youtube videos and enjoyed them since it seems to center around crimes I haven't heard. The only issue here is too many fricken ads. No other podcast I have listened to has this many paid advertisements. First influencer podcast I have listened to so that says it all I guess lol.

Valley Girl

Sorry but seems to be read by a modern day valley girl.
Did I hear a commercial in the middle???
Topics could be interesting but can’t take the immature style of reading
