Join Desiree & Benita, two former educators, discussing how they gained the courage to leave the classroom and begin creating the life they desire! Happy New Year and welcome to 2025! In the year's first episode, the dynamic duo welcome their first guest, Dr. Aalia Al-Barwani, MD who explains the art of eating intuitively rather than using food as a coping mechanism.

The Pioneering Woman for this week is none other than our esteemed guest, a board-certified physician who specializes in preventative and obesity medicine. What makes Dr. Al-Barwani's practice so special is that she uses Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practices to help her clients change not only the way they eat, but their mindset surrounding food! Dr. Al-Barwani is also the creator and host of the medical talk show "What’s Up, Doc?" on Muslim Network TV, where she shares her expertise on various health and wellness topics with the general public.

As they move into the episode topic, Desiree, Benita, & Dr. Al-Barwani discuss emotional eating versus intuitive eating and how to find a healthy medium when it comes to eating. Dr. Al-Barwani gives insight into how to change your mindset surrounding food and how to eat in a fulfilling and satisfying way.

The episode closes with helpful tools and resources such as EFT tapping, mindset shifts, and other NLP practices. However, the biggest one we're excited to share is Dr. Al-Barwani's Emotional Eating Course which will help you to kickstart your journey towards a healthier lifestyle!
