When the FBI’s senior leadership initially balked at providing a list of employees used in the investigation of the January 6 riot, they told the media that they feared “mass firings.” What they really feared was mass accountability.
The bureau finally complied with a legal order to provide the roster, and it had over five thousand names. The FBI only has some 14,000 agents. Christopher Wray and Merrick Garland tied up a third of the nation’s only federal law-enforcement and counter-intelligence agency over a riot, targeting people who were unarmed and mainly non-violent on January 6 along with violent rioters.
It's an absurd allocation of resources—underscoring the political nature of the Department of Justice and the FBI during Joe Biden’s presidency. And: Resources that should have been applied to real threats and violent criminals were unavailable. The same can be said for the other resources applied to politicized targeting of pro-lifers on FACE Act pretenses, snooping on conservative Catholics, and treating parents protesting school-board policies as “domestic terrorists.”
Accountability is coming … and long overdue.
