He’s been in the WordPress space since the beginning of the project and has now pivoted to teaching online course is both WordPress and Podcasting. Joe is a recovering university educator (University of Scranton) and now resides in the Western Suburbs of Philadelphia with his wife and soon to be 3 kids.

This is a special BONUS episode of the Entrepreneur’s Enigma podcast. Today we’re talking with a good friend of mine, Bart Mroz. Bart’s company Sumo Heavy Industries helps eCommerce brands build out their online systems and processes. Bart had always hustled and this hustle put him through college, at Temple University in Philadelphia, and has brought him to where he is today.

Bart is originally from Poland and came to the States when he was 12 in the early 1990s after the Berlin Wall fell. Talking to him, you’d never tell. He even says “Wuder!”

Bart’s company has grown to more than 30 people and is now completely remote after the 2019/2020 Covid Pandemic.

Reid Moncada has been through a lot in his 23 years on this planet. In high school, he faced immense adversity when his father lost his job. Reid and his family of 4 (and a 70lb dog) became homeless for 3 years. During this time Reid worked 3 jobs, including one at the local country club as a caddie. It was this job that took him on his entrepreneurial journey. Penn State, gave Reid a full ride scholarship to attend the university. It was there that Reid and some of his friends found an need a decided to fill it. The need was doing laundry for busy college students.

Now out of Penn State, his company Fitted Laundry, has exploded from it’s simple beginnings to 18 markets across the United States. In addition to laundry services, Fitted Laundry is getting into the consignment game, helping people sell the clothing they are done with. This service, for right now, is available in the Philadelphia and Los Angeles markets.

Reid is only at the start of his journey, but things are heading in the right direction. He’s going places.

Dusty Davidson didn’t always want to be an entrepreneur. But when he decided that the corporate world wasn’t right for him, he decided to try his hand at running his own business. Moving to California to Silicon Valley, wasn’t an option. Dusty had met his wife and had already put down roots in Omaha, Nebraska. So he made his hometown his hub, and started his journey.

Dusty has had multiple successful exits, the most recent was with his WordPress-optimized hosting platform Flywheel (affiliate link) to WP Engine. He now runs Workshop, an internal team communication suite of tools.

Joe Henderson has been in the startup ecosystem since the early 1990s. He has helped more than 50 startups get started, create MVPs, get funded, and grow. Joe is currently working with OnVector a water treatment startup that uses plasma lasers to clean water and get rid of all the hard to destroy grime.

Joe Singer was working hard in the CRM business, when his software developer came to him with a neat, innovative, new idea for business intelligence. Joe, who is a 20 year veteran of the entrepreneurial space, jumped on the idea and Merged Analytics was born. Joe Singer is a fellow Fighting Blue Hen (University of Delaware). He has been both in corporate America and on his own. He is currently the Co-Founder of Merged Analytics.

Joe resides in Connecticut with his wife and two kids. During the recording of this episode, we had to deal with a little internet wackiness, but all-in-all, we rolled with it and here you go. Just like in entrepreneurship, you have to roll with what you have.
