In today's episode, we are talking to Dr. Raelene Wilding. Raelene is an Associate Professor of Sociology at La Trobe University who examines how new technologies are changing the way people care for each other, how they think about their families, and how they maintain their relationships.
In her work with Professor Loretta Baldassar from the University of WA, she has been conducting research on the effectiveness of virtual reality and touch screen technology in overcoming isolation and stimulating social engagement in both residential and self-contained aged care environments.
In this conversation, we talk about the misconceptions of seniors and technology, how we can increase digital citizenship for older adults, and some of the exciting possibilities for enriching the lives of those receiving aged care with technology. We hope you enjoy this conversation with Raelene Wilding.
