Join David Spade and Chris Farley (aka Cody and Dan) as they go #beyondFLG with Kelly Teeselink, the Council Director at Girls on the Run of Northern Arizona. Kelly Teeselink is Council Director of Girls on the Run of Northern Arizona and has been involved with Girls on the Run since 2012, starting as a volunteer coach in her hometown of Iowa City, Iowa. Previously, she served as executive director of Girls on the Run of Eastern Iowa before making Flagstaff her home. Before becoming executive director of GOTREI, she held positions in community relations, marketing, and communications in both higher ed and nonprofit sectors.
Kelly is an avid trail runner, training for and racing 50ks, 50-milers, and 100-milers across the country. She began running at age 23 using the Couch to 5k program and discovered that running taught her she was more than a number on a scale and that her body could do some pretty incredible things. She is thrilled to be able to share this message with others and through Girls on the Run.
In this episode, Kelly talks about Girls on the Run being built around fostering confidence in young girls, finding running as a resource for her own well-being, and ultimately her moving to Flagstaff and developing connection with others and the natural landscape.
