  • Summary

  • Barbara Kentner’s eventual death after a metal trailer hitch was hurled at her by a passing car reveals deep-seated, racist truths about the city of Thunder Bay, about the country of Canada, and about the dangers of walking down any street as an Indigenous woman or girl. Thank You!

This is such a powerful series. I am so thankful to be able to hear about Indigenous experiences through Indigenous voices. These seven truths are things I want to embody in my own life. This series is inspiring and heartbreaking, but overall it makes me want to do better, personally, for the Peoples whose land I live in and on. Thank you Tanya Talaga for highlighting Indigenous voices from this place that is known to many as Canada! We need to hear the secrets that have been kept in order to bring change.

incredible.

Tanya is an incredible narrator/storyteller. I learned so much, and so much was painful to hear. I am hanging on to what what one of the storytellers said - we must move forward with hope. ❤️
