The 11th edition of SPOTLIGHT focuses on the work of Dr James Mannion and the insights he offers in his new book 'Making Change Stick'. James is the Director of Rethinking Education, a teacher training organisation dedicated to improving educational outcomes through self-regulated learning, implementation science, and practitioner research. He has a Masters in Person-Centred Education from the University of Sussex, and a PhD in Self-Regulated Learning from the University of Cambridge. Previously, James taught in secondary schools for 12 years. His latest book considers a very important question namely 'What proportion of school improvement initiatives improve pupil outcomes" and then goes on to consider the empirical evidence that supports the answer. James then creates a process that begins to unpick why some approaches are much less successful than others. The chat is varied, lively and makes clear his deep passion for the subject matter. Don't forget you can grab his book at all reputable bookshops and directly from John Catt Publishers. https://www.johncattbookshop.com/products/making-change-stick-a-practical-guide-to-implementing-school-improvement
