so much for headlines being optional
Most of the retellings were chilling and compelling. Great recordings and sound design! The woman conducting interviews following each tale was a real bonus.

Bad editing
Whoever put this together has likely never listened to an audio book and certainly never used the audible app. Take out the long pauses at the beginning of each segment and/or make them all one book not episodes. Horrible user experience for something intended from the start to be heard.
Stories are lovely and the discussions about them after are really great and informative (even though a few authors have some annoying habits and one really outed themselves as being a bit of an idiot).

Thoroughly enjoyable.
I actually missed the "feminist" part of the theme up to the point where I finished the fourth book. The women feature prominently, of course, but the flavour of the old stories come through, so the feminist leaning is subtle, modern, and quite refreshing.
