John is a staunch friend of the Jewish community and Israel. With the massive wave of anti-Israel antisemitism storming Australia and the West, John believes that "we are at a civilizational moment, the longer we ignore it, the longer we refuse to stand against it, the more likely it will be that it ends badly ". John feels strongly about antisemitism, deploring racism and hatred, and with everything happening in Australia he tells us that the Jewish community does have friends who are coming out in support. John states that he "looks forward to effective, moral leadership in this country" and tells us that PM Albanese and Foreign Minister Wong are deserting Israel big time at the UN, has only given succour to Hamas and the Israel haters. He believes that the antisemitism in Australia along with the feckless leadership from our Labor government is now an issue at the upcoming Federal election, and tells us that Peter Dutton has not abandoned and will not abandon the Jewish community and Israel. Morry Frenkel speaks with Timothy Wainwright, Executive Director of Operation Fire Support (OFS), an NGO dedicated to providing and improving fire and emergency training and education, and improving community emergency preparedness and prevention, both within Australia and around the globe. After several missions to Israel, beginning in 2019 following the use by Hamas and other militant groups of incendiary kites and balloons to start fires, OFS has embarked on a 4-year program aimed at creating a nationally recognised regime for emergency response teams and establishing bushfire mitigation, bushfire hazard reduction and community resilience in Israeli communities. Before entering politics, Tim was a policy director at the Institute of Public Affairs (IPA) and served as Australia's Human Rights Commissioner. He contends that the current Australian Federal and State Labor Governments are failing the Australian Jewish Community, and as such are failing Australia. Morry Frenkel speaks with Harriet Warlow-Shill, lawyer and founding partner of Warlows Legal, about her opinion piece, “Hamas’s chilling betrayal of its own people”, published in the December 10th issue of the Australian Jewish News. Harriet describes the aid provided through the Coordinator of the Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) a unit in the Israeli Ministry of Defence. Prior to October 7, 2023, COGAT had a strong working relationship with various countries to deliver civil engineering projects, including a desalination plant that would have made Gaza self-sufficient in water and projects to address power shortages. COGAT also had signed contracts with the Palestinian Authority (PA), Qatar, and the EU to deliver natural gas to Gaza, which would have addressed their energy needs. On October 7, Hamas bombed their own electricity lines, cutting off 90% of Gaza's power and destroying critical water infrastructure, which contributed to the humanitarian crisis. In spite of the horrors of October 7, COGAT has continued its humanitarian work, coordinating the vaccination of 90% of children in Gaza against polio, facilitating the evacuation of 20,000 people through the Rafah Crossing before it was closed by Egypt, and working with UNICEF and other NGOs for aid delivery.

Maurice Klein speaks with Vicki Kaplan, who most recently returned from spending one month in Israel volunteering with many different organisations with the help of Sword Of Iron (https://g.co/kgs/YKGE69H). Vicki spent the first 2 weeks as a Sar-El (www.sarelaustralia.com) volunteer at an IDF base with soldiers in Hatzerim, Be'er Sheva assisting in a logistical support role packing supplies for soldiers, which were then transported directly to Gaza. Vicki spent shorter stints of volunteering sorting clothes for displaced people at Erans Angels (www.eransangels.com/en/) in Tel Aviv; chopped vegetables at Meir Panin (www.meirpanim.org.au), a soup kitchen in Or Akiva, as well as filled bags with essential food items for the needy. She then travelled to an army base at Be'er Sheva with a vegan food van "The Vegan J17" (https://j17.co.il) to feed 600 Givati fighters of the Rottem Battalion, picked tomatoes through the Leket (https://g.co/kgs/ypF3edR) organisation to help farmers on a Moshav Leket and helped out at a BBQ (https://jeffseidel.com/idf-bbq/) for soldiers positioned 2 km from Gaza. In Jerusalem, Vicki worked with Tachlit (https://m.facebook.com/TachlitEnglish/), another amazing volunteering organisation packing and distributing fresh produce to displaced people and others in need. She also visited down south to Sderot, Zikim and the Nova site (https://www.holylandtourguide.com/) before returning to Australia.
