Pranay Thapa is a former Sasonian who shows up every morning at Mela Ground to teach football to many youths. Listen to this dreamer’s story, from starting a grassroots Football Club in Kalimpong alone to having his students signed by clubs all over India. Pranay completed his MBA from the International Institute of Planning and Management but life had other plans. He returned to his home in Kalimpong, the ridge where he played, and has since dedicated his time to nurturing the Sasonian Football Club. ⚽ 💚His vision was not just to foster a platform for the youth to train towards professional football but also to get them away from their phones and integrate physical fitness into their daily life. Today, his Academy nurtures as many as 200 young talents, some enrolling as early as the age of 5 years. Having grown up as a passionate sportsman, Pranay wants young people to have access to all the network and know-how of the Sport that his generation missed out on. Blessed with a steel-hard dedication to making dreams a reality, there are still many wishes for him to fulfill, a dedicated Stadium and good infrastructure for athletes in Darjeeling, and Kalimpong District being one of them. ✨ 🎙️ In this Langfang Episode, Watch Pranay and Chopel talk about Football and Sports Infrastructure in the Hills!
