Rune Hjarnø Rasmussen is an historian of religion, Ph.d., educated from the Universities of Uppsala and Copenhagen.Rune has lived in many countries and done fieldwork in a number of contemporary (primarily Afro-descendant) religions, but since childhood he has been strongly interested in Nordic religion.

  • Nazi Occultism
    Dec 19 2024
Were the Nazis motivated by a desire to return Northern religious practises across Europe? Isn't this obvious? Nazis used runes, after all! From Thulianism to Fanon, the hinterland of Nazi ideology proves a little more complicated.

Amazing hidden gem of a human. Listen to this guy!

With the massive amount of viking bro bullshit out there, Rune is one of those few humans that seems to actually investigate the reality behind the beliefs and processes that connect modern western society with their shared animist past, often pushing the reader or listener to a new place of practice. I was excited to find this on Audible and I'm looking forward to listening to more of this awesome and hilarious dude that is already a huge celebrity in the academic realm and author of the frankly outrageously intense Nordic Animist Year (book, and actual calendar that sells out in 5 mins every time it is printed). This guy is a creator of rabbit holes that you are going to be falling in and out of for a long time.
