  • Appreciating Commonalities; Learning To Respond With Love And Compassion
    Mar 22 2019

After ending my football career and getting involved in social equity clubs at Queen’s University, I was exposed to different conversations about equity and inclusion and shocked to discover different harmful experiences minorities have dealt with on campus. This episode will offer ways to respond with love to those who mistreat us, and stem from a talk by Cassandra Vieten on ‘Changemaker Skills.’ Cassandra Vieten, PhD, is president and CEO of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, a scientist at California Pacific Medical Center, and a licensed clinical psychologist. Further, we will explore how we can move forward together as one big family (one big group), rather than individuals or individual groups. Topics covered are inspired by events at Queen’s, but relate to everyone. The podcast concludes with a compassion practice inspired by the Dalai Lama.
