  • Ep. 419 How to Know If You’re Insulin Resistant & How to Reverse It Naturally

    A lot of people are asking us, “What is insulin resistance?” and “Do I have it?” We’re going to give you a different take on what it is! In fact, we’re going to broaden the definition. What age does muscle decline start? Every year after 30, but it starts to escalate in the mid-30s. But even a young person that’s sitting in the house with a device all day can be in decline... we experienced it early because we were vegan, and our muscles began to decline. But what does muscle and insulin resistance have to do with each other? The muscle as an organ is made to uptake insulin to accept protein, and blood sugar. But if you don’t have the ability to absorb insulin (deflating muscles, less lean muscle tissue) then you are experiencing some degree of insulin resistance. If you’re just thinking about weight loss, you can fall into insulin resistance (because you are losing muscle mass). Proper amounts of protein are absolutely essential to prevent this decline. So you have to reverse this muscle decline through consumption of protein, cleaning your muscle cells with a high plant intake, utilizing healthy carbs and strength training–you have to become a BURNER.
