Aisling is 28 and she’s a complete...Aisling. She lives at home in Ballygobbard (or Ballygobackwards, as some gas tickets call it) with her parents and commutes to her good job at PensionsPlus in Dublin. Aisling goes out every Saturday night with her best friend, Majella, who is a bit of a hames (she’s lost two phones already this year - Aisling has never lost a phone). They love hoofing into the Coors Light if they’re 'Out' or the vodka and Diet Cokes if they’re 'Out Out'.

Sadie and Max fell in love while training to be classical pianists in music school, and they’ve been chasing their dreams together ever since. Now they’ve gotten engaged and are on the verge of a bright future—until an unexpected twist throws them out of harmony. When they’re both finalists in the prestigious Van Cage piano competition, they go from being each other’s biggest fans to fierce rivals. The winner will be launched into a meteoric career as a concert pianist, but only one can take first place.

So schnell kann’s gehen: Gerade noch lief in Dublin für Aisling alles wunderbar, da zerplatzt der Großstadttraum... Nicht nur, dass sie plötzlich ihren Job verliert, auch aus ihrer coolen WG muss sie ausziehen - und die gerade wieder aufgeflammte Beziehung zu John geht den Bach runter. Was tun? Erstmal zurück nach Hause aufs Land (nicht ohne einen Abstecher nach Las Vegas - ein bisschen Spaß muss schließlich sein). Eine Katastrophe? Oder wird es Aisling gelingen, in Ballygobbard nicht nur zurück zu ihren Wurzeln, sondern auch ihr Glück zu finden?

Eigentlich wollte die bodenständige 28-jährige Aisling (sprich: Äschling) nur eins: endlich einen Antrag von ihrem Freund John. Als selbst der romantische Trip nach Teneriffa nichts hilft, macht Aisling plötzlich etwas ganz und gar Unvernünftiges: Sie trennt sich von John, zieht von ihrem Heimatort Ballygobbard nach Dublin – und findet sich schon bald zwischen neuen glamourösen Freundinnen, einem Finanzskandal (den, so hofft sie inständig, nicht sie selbst verursacht hat) sowie einem Liebesdreieck (das in ein Liebesviereck zu münden droht) wieder.
