Spoiled New York City girl, Hildegarde Graham, is sent to stay with her mother's old nurse in the country. When her parents must take a trip to California, Hildegarde learns the value of simplicity, kindness, and a more democratic sensibility. Laura Elizabeth Howe Richards (Feb. 27, 1850 - Jan. 14, 1943) was born in Boston, Mass., to a high-profile family. During her life, she wrote over 90 books, including children's novels, biographies, and poetry. Queen Hildegarde, published in 1889, was one of her most famous works.

The mini volume Yarran mirrors three different expressions of feelings: the love for animals, the cheerfulness that can be found in nature, and the excitement of reading/listening to books. Yarran’s treasures spring from real images captured from my surrounding. The little puppy’s character reflects my little actress Pepina, a puppy that spreads joy and love everywhere she goes.

This anthology is a panoramic view of all my children's stories written at different times and on different themes and genres. Among the themes, there is a wide range of stories about love, death, life, life after death, courage, innocence, and envy.
