Un seul indice est laissé sur chacune des scènes de crime dans une ville de province au nord du Danemark : de mystérieux symboles chinois. Eva se trouve dans l'œil du cyclone. Après avoir vécu une tragédie profondément douloureuse, sa fille tant attendue décède à la naissance. Eva se bat pour remettre sa vie sur les rails avec son mari qui, récemment et inexplicablement, est devenu paralysé et ne peut plus s'occuper de lui-même.

The only clue - mysterious Chinese symbols; left behind at each of the crime scenes in a provincial town in Northern Denmark. In the eye of the storm is Eva. After suffering a deeply sorrowful tragedy - where her long-awaited daughter is stillborn - Eva is fighting to get her life back on track together with her husband who recently, and inexplicably, became paralyzed and is now unable to take care of himself. In an attempt to escape her grief, Eva embarks on her own investigation to find out who is behind these violent crimes.

Eva Hegner is doing her best to hold it together. She recently gave birth to a stillborn daughter, and shortly after that, her once athletic husband became inexplicably paralyzed from the neck down. The past twelve days have been filled with visits to the hospital and the cemetery and with taking care of her husband’s every need. And then the police show up. A grave has been vandalized, the corpse missing.
