This is a book of poetry and prose that attempts to channel Words Between my eight Year old Self and Me here is the start of it: I was lying here thinking what I'd tell my 8 year old self since reading a book that implied she might still be inside of me. I wanted to ask her what dreams I should still try to achieve. I don’t know why I wasn’t actually surprised when she finally spoke. Why hadn’t I tried to reach out to her sooner? She said having a family of my own was always my dream, babies and children and a man.

This is a book of poetry as seen through the eyes of a deployed Soldier. It deals with the aspects of life that we face daily during a deployment. PTSD is a real struggle, and we all deal with its attacks on us differently. Some of us draw, some of us sing, some of us play instruments, and some of us write poetry.

To describe This Made Me Think Of You would be to describe love... nearly impossible in one short description, especially to someone who hasn't read/experienced it. So we'll end here with one short message: Discovering love is a beautiful journey. Sharing it and remembering it during the chaos of life—that's where true magic lies.

In late 1994 and early 1995 the world as I knew it came crashing down on top of me. I had a negative life threating event rip through my known universe. My reality was no more, my memories were lost and I constantly courted suicide I saw things that I had no understanding of and heard things that I couldn't grasp. My sleep was full of monsters that chased me and my wakening was full of things that threatened me.

Poemas escritos entre 1983 y 1986. El poeta mira, imagina, evoca la profecía apocalíptica cumplida durante los dos grandes terremotos de 1985. La desastrosa mañana de aquel septiembre de 1985 "la tierra que destruimos se hizo presente". Un fatídico terremoto demostró "hasta qué punto nos aborrece la tierra: / nos ve como insectos / torturadores que la roen por dentro". Su devastadora venganza puso en evidencia que "es el nombre profundo de la muerte". Los sobrevivientes "¿vamos a hacer / otra ciudad, otro país, otra vida? / De otra manera seguirá el derrumbe".
