In Point Man Ministries we have a patch that says, "not all wounds are visible". It is a sobering reminder of the internal damage often suffered by combat veterans and others with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I've had a story to tell from the moment I stepped back onto American soil in 1970 after serving in Vietnam for a year, but it took 50 years for that story to find the right words, and for those words to find their voice. My time in Vietnam ended in 1970, but I carried my experiences home with me like a heavy backpack full of unprocessed emotion.

Many Christian leaders are content to tell you what they think you want to hear. But what if what you want and need most is being sidestepped? Even when unpopular, Jesus didn't just acknowledge spiritual realities many prefer to sidestep, He also spelled out the life-changing solution (and it's simpler than we’ve been led to believe). Avoiding the real problem only enables it to get worse, not better. Ironically, what we’ve been told we aren't allowed to talk about is what Jesus tackled head-on.
