The Table Talk of Doctor Martin Luther is a collection of Luther’s commentaries on Biblical books such as Galatians and Deuteronomy. Much of the collection is based on notes taken during Luther's talks with his students and colleagues. Luther's close associates Antony Lauterbach and John Aurifaber took note of these informal speeches in which he comments on subjects such as baptism, the holy spirit and discipleship. Luther’s 95 Theses, written in Latin, were famously posted by Martin Luther on the door of the Castle Church, Wittenberg, on October 31, 1517, an event that came to be considered as the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.
