The Art of War is an ancient Chinese military treatise attributed to Sun Tzu, a high-ranking military general, strategist, and tactician. The text is composed of 13 chapters, each devoted to one aspect of warfare. It is commonly considered to be the definitive work on military strategy and tactics of its time. It has been the most famous and influential of China's Seven Military Classics, and "for the last 2,000 years it remained the most important military treatise in Asia, where even the common people knew it by name."

On Christmas Eve 1909, Mark Twain's youngest daughter, Jean, died. She was just 29 years old. Over the next two days, in his grief, he wrote of his deep love for her; her last days with him; the previous loss of his wife, another daughter, and long-ime friends; and his profound loneliness as he reached what would be his own final days. He wanted this to be the final chapter of his autobiography. Four months later he, too, was dead.

Initially published in 1914, Papa was the first major dramatic work by playwright and poet Zoë Akins (1886-1958). "The Hound of the Baskervilles" is the third of four crime novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle featuring the detective Sherlock Holmes. Originally serialised in "The Strand Magazine" from August 1901 to April 1902, it is set largely on Dartmoor in Devon in England's West Country and tells the story of an attempted murder inspired by the legend of a fearsome, diabolical hound.

Thundering across the screen, Judah Ben-Hur’s iconic chariot race against his former friend turned bitter foe remains an indelible part of cinematic history, and established Charlton Heston as an international superstar. In many ways, the race was a metaphor for the actor’s dynamic life, symbolizing his struggle to establish himself in his profession.

John Ford said that his film Stagecoach was in many ways a western rewrite of Boule de Suif.
