La Reine des Neiges est un conte écrit par Hans Christian Andersen en 1844. Il raconte l'histoire de deux enfants, Gerda et Kay, amis depuis leur plus jeune âge. One tin soldier, though he was exactly the same as his brothers, found himself, by accident, setting out alone on a series of adventures. But do not worry, this tin soldier was afraid of nothing. - Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) was a Danish author, poet and artist.

The tale follows a barefoot girl trying to sell matchsticks on a frigid New Year’s Eve. As the night grows colder, she lights the matches for warmth and has visions of her dead grandmother. Feel the cold seep into your bones as you hear this tale that has haunted listeners for over a century.

The Princess and the Pea is the story of a prince who wishes to marry a princess but is having difficulty finding a suitable wife. One night a young woman who claims to be a princess arrives at the palace, so the prince's mother decides to test their unexpected guest by placing a pea under her bed, covered by 20 feather mattresses. In the morning, the guest tells her hosts that she had a sleepless night, kept awake by something hard in the bed. So the two are married because only a real princess would be sensitive enough to feel a pea through so much bedding.

In The Little Match Girl, a barefoot girl tries unsuccessfully to make money for her family by selling matches on the street. Afraid to go home empty-handed and face her father’s wrath, she decides to take shelter in an alley for the night and lights matches to keep herself warm. The harsh realism of this story reminds listeners to be grateful and kind during the cold holiday season.
