In 1953, an influential cotton farmer from Mississippi on business in Chicago killed a young Black female college student on his last night in town after she refused his sexual advances. The murder was witnessed by several people, including the victim’s White classmate and friend. The charges were dismissed and the farmer returned home the next day, knowing that he had gotten away with murder. But what he didn’t know was that he had killed the daughter of one of the most successful, ruthless, and dangerous businessmen and criminal underworld figures in Black Chicago.
