The country of Arketta calls them Good Luck Girls - they know their luck is anything but. Sold to a "welcome house" as children and branded with cursed markings. I landet Arketta kan fattige piger få en ekstra chance i livet ved at blive optaget i et såkaldt glædeshus. Når de fylder 16 år bliver de Good Luck Girls, når de for første gang tilbringer natten med en mand: deres Lucky Night. Vi møder Clementine på hendes 16-årsfødselsdag, hun ser frem til sin Lucky Night med stor spænding. Hendes ældre søster, Aster, er dog mindre begejstret. Og da Clementine kommer til at slå sin første kunde ihjel, er gode råd dyre. Aster og Clementine flygter sammen med tre andre piger over hals og hoved ud i natten.
