Summary

Zudem erklärt er die Bedeutung einzelner Planeten und deren Beziehung untereinander, geht auf eine etwaige Symmetrie des Universums ein, und widmet sich der Frage, ob die Mondlandung tatsächlich stattgefunden hat. Eine anschaulich erklärte Wissensreihe, benannt nach einem über vier Lichtjahre entfernten Sonnensystem, das komplexe Themen auch für Laien zugänglich macht.

Harald Lesch ist Astrophysiker und Philosoph. Zu seinen Hauptforschungsgebieten zählen Schwarze Löcher, Plasmaphysik und Neutronensterne. Nachdem die Wissenssendung "alpha-Centauri" sich ab 1998 im Bayerischen Fernsehen als großer Erfolg erwies, trat Lesch in weiteren Sendungen in Erscheinung, so "Lesch & Co", "Denker des Abendlandes" oder "Frag den Lesch". Die Hörbuchserie "Alpha Centauri", die Lesch selbst eingesprochen hat, basiert auf dem Konzept der "alpha-Centauri"-Sendungen, in denen Lesch in jeweils 15-minütigen Episoden ein Kernthema der Physik behandelte.

Für seine Verdienste wurde Harald Lesch mit etlichen Preisen ausgezeichnet. So wurde ihm der Deutsche IQ-Preis vom Verein Mensa für seine Tätigkeit als Moderator verliehen. Zudem erhielt er den Deutschen Fernsehpreis in der Kategorie Bestes Infotainment und der Deutsche Hochschulverband ernannte ihn 2012 zum Hochschullehrer des Jahres.
