Crossroads Witch

As if being locked up in the crazy house wasn’t bad enough, I wake up to discover that the person I trust most in the world just morphed into a bloodthirsty monster. My only chance for escape comes in the form of two women calling out from within a shimmering tunnel. So, it's either stick around and get murdered or jump through some kind of portal.

One chance. That's all I’ll have. Along with a choice I can't possibly make. In just a few weeks, I’ve gone from living in a psychiatric hospital, to learning I have magic, to joining a secret society of witches. I've also had to come to terms with both what I am and where I came from. Half demon, half witch, born in the demon real - a magical mutation created for sacrificial purposes. It's so nice knowing that the woman who raised me only did so because she was planning to spill my blood on her sacrificial altar. So, yeah. No wonder I went crazy.

With the body-hopping supernatural psychos finally vanquished, it seems like it might be time to relax. You know, have some fun. Hang out with my friends. Focus on my magical education. And, if all goes according to plan, take my relationship with Kai to the next level. Trust me, having spent my early-20s locked up in an institution, I’m more than ready to celebrate that particular rite of passage. But if I’ve learned anything in my short time in the world of witches, it’s never to let your guard down.

Just when we thought the threats we were facing might finally be gone, a magical attack forces us to realize we couldn’t be more wrong. As if the supposed “Pureblood” witches would stop trying to take down magical mutts like us. Among them these days is our old friend, Zachary, and if he’s behind the attack he’s right in thinking we haven’t forgotten how he betrayed us. Which may be why he decided to strike first. Like they say, there’s no animal more dangerous than one who fears itself cornered.

When our vampire friend, Nora, reaches out for help, what choice do I have but to try? At least that’s what I tell myself when I open a doorway into an unfamiliar realm—the result being that I reunite Nora with her long-dead vampire lover. Kind of weird, I know, but that’s not the problem.
