The Peabody Series

Pull on your boots! It's winter in Peabody, Wisconsin, and there is plenty of excitement afoot at the Derwood household. Wise-cracking siblings Jack and Penny become entangled in an international smuggling operation and the nonstop adventure of cracking a dangerous case. At times, however, it is hard to decide which is a greater threat: seasoned criminals or neighborhood bullies.

In the second book of the Peabody series, Scruggs finds himself caught in the middle of a ring of international spies, and they are trying to get rid of a stolen piece of technology. He has to decide who to trust among the strangers he meets, and he has to rely on his wits and courage as he tries to find a way back to the home he has longed for in Peabody, Wisconsin.

Facing danger in the remote Canadian Rockies, Jack and Scruggs work together to overcome the dangers facing them and their team. Again and again they combine wit and courage to overcome the obstacles and dangers thrown in their way.

Doc Ericson has just started a llama farm, north of Peabody, Wisconsin, and he asks Penny, Jack, and Scruggs to help out. As soon as they get there, however, strange things begin to happen. Who let the llamas run loose? Is somebody trying to make trouble for Doc Ericson and his llamas? And what about that telescope they discovered? Could it be watching them?

In the fourth book of the Peabody series, the meek and well behaved Jean asks the Lord to help her be brave and send her on an adventure. Over the next several weeks Jean learns to stand up for herself, say the truth even when it's hard, and say what she wants to do. But on a trip to her aunt and uncle's farm in Alabama, Jean has an abandoned hunting lodge, a cave, a missing will, and a stolen jewel to contend with. Proud that she has conquered her fear well enough to learn to ride a horse, Jean has enormous tasks.

The whole gang from Peabody: Scruggs, Penny, Annette, Jack, and Jean, board a flight for a vacation in New England with Aunt Betty and Uncle Bill. But they find themselves abandoned in a strange, seemingly endless forest in the mountains. With very little food and no gear, they must keep moving as they try to figure out who has left them here, and who is following them, and what they want.

The gang of friends: Scruggs, Jack, Penny, Annette, and Jean have got their new clubhouse in place, but they are stormed by Eddy and his gang of pals who specialize in outwitting the Hall of Heroes and making them look ridiculous. Meanwhile, Jean has been assigned by her church's Young Helps group to clean house and assist the mysterious woman who lives by herself in the big, spooky house on a lonely and dark street. Why does Martha Jenkins have no friends, and why does she never leave her house?
