Story
It's not you; it's your schedule. Does it sound like magic? It's not. We've all heard of circadian rhythms - those biological processes that give us jet lag and make us night owls or early birds. But few of us know just how profoundly these diurnal patterns affect our overall health. Bad habits - like skipping meals, squeezing in workouts, working late into the night and then trying to catch up on sleep during the weekend - disrupt our natural cycles. A growing body of research on chronobiology reveals just how sensitive the human body is to these rhythms all the way down to the genetic level.

In his new book, Powerhouse, Greg Wells shows you simple yet revolutionary ways to heal and boost your mitochondria, repairing and improving your whole body.

Story
We all long to be free of our discomfort and experience inner peace. However, the attempt to get rid of our discomfort is misguided. We're not broken and don't need to be "healed". Our difficulty is that our deeply suppressed emotional imprints from childhood distract us from an awareness of the present moment. Until this emotional charge from our past is integrated, our attempts to quiet our thoughts and access the peace, joy, and love that are bedrock to our being are of only limited success.

Publisher's Summary
A tender, powerful, and achievable path to the everyday resiliency we all need to navigate the uncertainty in our lives.
An inspiring new voice in resiliency, Dr. Robyne Hanley-Dafoe believes that our modern conception of resiliency as “fighting” or being “tougher” is misguided. Learning happens when we are able to trust and feel safe; fear and shame are barriers, not facilitators, for authentic growth, acceptance, and change. In Calm Within the Storm, Dr. Robyne maps out a kinder approach to taking on the challenges of life and developing authentic self-alignment and balance.
By focusing on research-informed, sustainable, and achievable personal development practices, Dr. Robyne presents a new, attainable model for everyday resiliency - one that everyone can use to feel more grounded and capable. She identifies the obstacles that derail us and keep us stuck, and shows us how to enact our resiliency through stories, research, and practical strategies.

Loved this!
Thank you Dr Robyne for sharing your thoughts on resilience. Well written and easy to listen to. Once I started I couldn’t stop listening. From someone who doesn’t shed a tear easily, I found myself wiping a few away and at the same time feeling joyful for having that moment. I will definitely listen to it again so I can share some key messages with my adult children. Thank you! Thank you!

Great Practical Tips To Combat Life's Curveballs
Just finished this book, my second from the author #drrobynehanleydafoe called #calmwithinthestorm and I really loved it. She uses the power or story telling (including her own story) to educate. This book is jam packed with science and research driven practical tips that you can immediately apply in your everyday life when you're thrown curve balls left and right (which seems to be ever more frequent). This is well worth a read if you've been struggling with life.

Life changing
Dr. Robyne opens up about her life in a way that really makes you feel connected to her and her story, and she makes it easy to understand and embrace the 5 pillars and pathways to resiliency. I’ve walked away with a new perspective on acceptance and worth and open to applying what I’ve learned every day. One of the many lessons that will stay with me “we are not our mistakes, accidents or pain. These are events, not characteristics.”
