Aaron’s life has been a preparation for the writing of Who You Gonna Serve. He grew up with the impact and influences of poverty and witnessing the decimation of drug addiction among family members. He has spent a career reaching out to the lost souls struggling under the impacts of these effects, illuminating pathways to life change. This book is more than a book for him it represents a mission.
The book, Who You Gonna Serve, came to Aaron as a film concept and this will show as you read. The action is fast the setting were conceived as scenes. The intention was to capture the minds of the reader in a creative and entertaining way, taking you on a journey that is enjoyable with or without a desire to be inspired toward reflecting on the presence of a God who may be trying to take an active role in your life.
Residing in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, Aaron is the CEO of the The APZ Group, desiring to create entertainment with a positive message. He is the founder of Men Involved, a diversion and mentoring group for youth and adults at risk of incarceration and or addiction. He is the Outreach Coordinator for CRN, Confident Recovery Network, a mental health, addiction and recovery center with residential treatment facilities and a partner of La Glimmer a local event center. He endeavors to create a stronger community through outreach, education and entertainment across many fields and the book, Who You Gonna Serve, is a part of that effort.
Aaron Pullins' adverse and positive life experiences, coupled with decades of professional knowledge as a community advocate and mentor to at-risk youth, have empowered him to deeply identify with the characters and issues conveyed in this story. Aaron would be happy to speak to these issues within your store, organization, church, school, outreach organization, etc.
This book has the potential to change a life. Negative choices are glamorized then torn down generating compassion for those making wrong choices in a complex world, while pointing toward a pathway for a better life. We live at a time in history in which the general population is aware that we are over incarcerating and yet as a collective society we have few insights into the dynamics behind that. Many of us have faith in a higher power; but we have little insight into how that faith can become a source of strength and change for people in our communities and within ourselves. We have advanced leaps and bounds technically and materially yet remain stuck inwardly. This book has the potential to open a door of awareness and lead toward change.
Seekers of a better life from professionals to at risk youth can find themselves in this story. The two leading characters represent people of high and low social stature and older and younger age brackets. The lessons of this book apply to people tempted toward crimes or errant choices of all types. To deepen that point, the United States is burdened by a huge population of incarcerated people caught up in generational poverty and vunerable to the temptations of illegal drug sales, etc., leading to short term personal solutions and long term social collapse. The book encourages those caught in the trap of current desires and needs to find strength and imagine creating a new and more positive lifestyle.
