Amy Gerstler’s books of poems include Index of Women (Penguin, 2021), Scattered at Sea, (Penguin, 2015), which was longlisted for the National Book Award, and Dearest Creature (Penguin, 2009) which was named a New York Times Notable Book, and was short listed for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize in Poetry. Her previous twelve books include Ghost Girl, Medicine, Crown of Weeds, Nerve Storm, and Bitter Angel, which won a National Book Critics Circle Award. She received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2018. In 2019 she received a C.D. Wright Award from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts. Her work has appeared in a variety of magazines and anthologies, including The New Yorker, Paris Review, The Atlantic, American Poetry Review, Poetry, several volumes of Best American Poetry and The Norton Anthology of Postmodern American Poetry. She also sometimes writes fiction, nonfiction, plays, art criticism and journalism.
