Angelina Dunbar writes for children—fantasy, mystery, adventure, and preschool books. She grew up in a large family in a barrio (village) of Cebu, Philippines, without electricity, television, phones, or the internet. Her lola (grandmother) told them tales of mythical creatures and spirit worlds, fueling her imagination and love of storytelling. After traveling the world with the U.S. Air Force, she taught pre-K to fifth grade as a substitute teacher, sparking a desire to write for children. She is best known for her “Hugz and His Friend Bugz” preschool books and Bodbod’s Ghosts picture book. You’ll love her upcoming chapter book, “Tina and the Giant: The Borrowers’ Cave.” In this book, children will discover interesting things about Filipino culture and join Tina’s quest to find the Borrowers’ Cave as she solves an island mystery.
