Asa Soltan, also known as the Persian Pop Priestess, is the star of Bravo’s hit reality show Shahs of Sunset. Known for her eccentric glamour and down-to-earth spirituality, Asa is an internationally recognized multi-media artist, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. Asa has an incredible story. Early in life, she and her family escaped Iran as political refugees. As a citizen of the world, by the age just 15, she had already lived on three continents and spoke four languages. The Islamic revolution and decade-long war were the backdrop of her early childhood. Socio-political hip hop of the late 80s in Hamburg, Germany completed her formative years, followed by a sunshine-kissed beach life during her late teen years in Los Angeles. Asa's artwork, which is inspired by her life’s story, has been published by the International Women’s Museum of San Francisco, and consists of mostly existential explorations about the concepts of identity, self, and home. Her art is often considered "Islamic feminist," as seen on Shahs season four with her #ImEveryWoman piece, a performance about the veil that Asa and Girl Army performed on Hollywood Blvd. Her passion to create comes from her personal experiences and thus, she does not take the freedom of expression and individuality for granted. In 2013, Asa launched her first product as an entrepreneur, Diamond Water, a high-end bottled alkaline water enhanced with real diamonds. Diamond Water, which Asa conceptualized on national TV through a ritual intended to connect her to her roots, has been franchised in Dubai and the rest of the Middle East. It is now served at the only 3 Michelin star restaurant in Dubai. In September 2014, Asa launched her highly anticipated luxury clothing line, Asa Kaftans, which is a favorite among both celebrities and Asa’s international fan-base. In October 2015, Asa Kaftans held a star-studded debut runway show at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills benefitting City of Hope. Her Kaftan line is sold at Nordstrom nationwide and there is an exclusive Asa Kaftans x Nordstrom collaboration in the works for Spring/Summer 2017. Asa Kaftans are also debuting their flagship boutique on the famous Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice Beach. Asa also has an epic Golden jewelry collection with HSN, in which all the pieces are inspired by ancient Persian Queens and their Gold adornments. Much like Asa's personal style, the collection is exotic, unique, bold and boundary breaking. When Asa is not working she finds time to give back. In 2014, she partnered with the Adopt the Arts Foundation to sponsor a year of art education in a Los Angeles school district with no funding for the arts. She is committed to using her unique blend of high-art, pop-culture, glamour, and spirituality to make the world a more beautiful and positive place. Asa currently resides with her family and new born son Soltan "Soul" Jackson in Venice Beach, California.
