Brian Fitzpatrick is an award-winning author, screenwriter, and speaker. Imagine being just 7 years old and accidentally watching the horror classic, Night of the Living Dead. For writer, Brian Fitzpatrick, that’s precisely what happened. Terrified but riveted at the same time, watching the zombie horror became the catalyst for a life-altering path forward. After a week of sleepless nights, he became fascinated with the idea that he could be so scared, yet be perfectly safe. After mom suggested he write stories of his own, Fitzpatrick put pen to paper and has been creating horror and science fiction tales ever since. Fitzpatrick grew up on Spielberg, Carpenter, Lucas, Cronenberg, Stephen King, Anne Rice, Dean Koontz, and Clive Barker. Science fiction and horror are in his DNA. For over a decade, Fitzpatrick turned his focus to screenwriting where he would go on to place in the quarterfinals in 8 competitions and 1 semifinals. He then converted his most popular screenplay, Mechcraft, into a novel. The nanotech sci-fi adventure found a publisher and won awards. The sequels, Mechcraft: Disruption and Mechcraft: Cataclysm followed shortly after. Each novel achieved #1 bestseller status on Amazon multiple times and received high praise from industry heavy-hitters. Shortly after the book launch, industrial rock band, CHMCL STR8JCKT, reached out to Fitzpatrick and asked if they could write a song about Mechcraft. The end result became “Tendril and Blade,” a hard-driving song about the story’s villain, Sasha. The band released the song as their album opener on their new release, DRK PRGRSSN, on February 12, 2021. In 2021, actor/producer/writer, Gina Nemo, hired Fitzpatrick to co-write the pilot for a new science fiction TV series titled, Finch & Skull. The script is currently being shopped to agents, production companies, and studios. In January 2022, Gina Nemo hired Fitzpatrick once again. This time to co-write a contained science fiction feature film, The Simian Trials. He was hired on the set as script supervisor and filming wrapped at the end of May 2022. The film has a tentative release of early 2023. More recently, Fitzpatrick worked with a producer in Montreal providing feedback on a new horror script, set up a meeting and script swap with an executive and NBC Universal, and he’s outlining a new Mechcraft novel. Fitzpatrick resides in southern California with his wife, son, dog, cat, and 7 chickens. He enjoys cooking, coffee, and investigating the paranormal with his wife and their dedicated team.
