Casey Giles was born in March of 2006 as the only child of a Filipina immigrant and a fourth-generation Texan. She lives with her family and hyper-active dog named Boodle in Houston, Texas. She loves the color combination yellow and blue, and while she’ll listen to almost any type of music, her favorite genres revolve around rock and its subgenres. Her favorite things to do in her free time are hanging out at parks with her friends, going out for milk tea, and generally staying active both indoors and outdoors. When she gets older, she wants to study abroad and one day travel the world. Casey loves going to new places, as they’re both very interesting and exciting, as well as good inspiration for world development in writing. Having grown up with books, Casey will devour any piece of literature she can get her hands on. She especially loves to read historical and science fiction. She enjoys fine arts and history, her favorite classes including orchestra and social studies. Casey has been playing the violin since she was 10, finding it more interesting than the piano, which she’d started with. When she’s not working or out and about, she does painting, digital art, and dabbles in animation. Casey is enthusiastic about writing and storytelling. Her first novel, INDIFFERENTS, is inspired by her love of reading and fabricating her own tales. She loves creating worlds she can delve into, and plotting a fictional story involves just that. The universe of INDIFFERENTS is set in a dystopian scene, where different organizations and groups band together to survive the run-down world and its obstacles, as well as avoid or make conflict and war. The story follows a boy named Jack who resides in the center of the social turmoil, not particularly on either side of the two named extremes, “Good,” and “Evil.” When everything starts to go awry at the introduction of a powerful piece of technology, Jack finds himself caught up in a dangerous adventure to save his home, albeit with some unexpected help. Her first book INDIFFERENTS garnered much acclaim, readers describing it as a breath-taking, epic, fun, and fast-paced adventure, as well as hard to put down-- just to name a few. Although the novel is directed towards middle school aged children, it can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from elementary students to adults. She started writing it in the 5th grade and self-published her first novel when she was 13. Both of her books are available in Amazon. Her sequel INDIGO FADING was released last Dec. 25, 2020, and had the book launching and signing event on March 6, 2021, in Sugarland, Texas. The launch funds went to benefiting GraceDrive Ministries for special needs kids. Throughout writing, Casey’s goal was to impact the lives of others through the morals in her story and to hopefully inspire them to be creative and pursue their passions.
